The four product face

Despite my often insatiable love of all things beauty I more often than not tend to stick to a very basic every day look because, to be honest, most of the time I can’t be bothered. I love cut creases and dewy highlighter as much as the next girl but when it comes to putting my face on in the morning, I often allow myself to indulge in what I consider to be the perfect four product face.

Enter the four pillars of my basic face routine; a good buildable base product, a brown mascara, an excellent eyebrow product and a natural looking blush.

Please excuse the state of my brows - I’m long overdue a wax!

Please excuse the state of my brows - I’m long overdue a wax!

For a couple of years now my base product of choice has been the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue - an easy and breezy light foundation/BB cream hybrid that evens out my skin tone and provides just enough coverage whilst still remaining dewy and fresh. Next we have brows where I swap between Benefit’s Gimme Brow in Shade 3, for a more natural finish, and the Anastasia Brow Pomade Gel in Taupe - a more pigmented product for a more defined look. Top the eyes off with a less harsh, brown mascara, my favourite being the No7 Lovely Lashes Mascara in Brown. Then we can move onto the last essential product in my arsenal - the blush. An avid collector of blushes all shapes, shades and sizes, this is a part of my routine that changes with my mood - so a lot. I’m quite partial to MAC Cremeblend Blush in Something Special (Limited Edition) or NARS Blush in Gaitey, but I have been known to swap in a shimmery shade like MAC MSF in Petticoat (LE) when I’m feeling especially fancy.

And that concludes it - my essential products for perfecting the four-product face. Do you have a similar look that’s quick and easy for when you don’t feel like piling on the makeup but want to look fresh and presentable? Let me know your four-product face in the comment section below.
